Isn’t It Strange
- Isn’t it strange how a $100 dollar bill seems like such a large amount when you donate it to the temple, but such a small amount when you go shopping?
- Isn’t it strange how endless an hour seems when we are serving God, but how short it is when we watch a Football game or Cricket for 60 minutes?
- Isn’t it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you’re at the temple and how short they seem when you’re watching a good movie?
- Isn’t it strange that you can’t find things to say when you’re praying, but you have no trouble in thinking what to talk about with a friend?
- Isn’t it strange how difficult and boring it is to read one chapter of Bhagwad Gita, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular novel?
- Isn’t it strange how everyone wants front-row-tickets to concerts or games, but they do whatever is possible to sit in the last row in the temple?
- Isn’t it strange how we need to know about an event for the temple 2-3 weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda, but we can adjust it for other events at the last minute?
- Isn’t it strange how difficult it is to learn a fact about God to share it with others, but how easy it is to learn, understand, extend and repeat gossip?
- Isn’t it strange how we believe everything that Magazines and Newspapers say but we question the words in the holy books like Ramayan?
- Isn’t it strange how everyone wants a place in heaven, but they don’t want to believe, do, or say anything to get there?
- Isn’t it strange how we send jokes in e-mails and they are Fowarded right away, but when we are going to send messages about God, we think about twice before we share them with others?

Jesus said “love thy neighbour’. And the entire mankind was not able to follow this…
Faith is the most complex thing. Its much more than trust… It like giving the reigns of your life to somebody else… Humans are not ready for it yet…
Hi,
I have been a fan of yours for a while now but this is the first non-festival post that I have come across that doesn’t really apply to everyone. I have no idea what Bhagwad Gita is or Ramayan. This msg would have reached more people if it had wasn’t centred around a religion.
I liked this message. I think that we are caught up in a world that is very afraid of spiritual dialogue.
It is nice to reflect on the irony of life. It is ironic that we don’t spend too long reflecting on the meaning of what we are doing - ie sprituality, but we would rather spend our time occupied with other activities.
I like to meditate as it “de-stresses me” and helps me find more balance. However it is ironic that I find it difficult to find the time to meditate, because my day if filled up with more meaningless activities
In fairness to those who avoid talking about spirituality (and who would rather spend time gossiping etc) - perhaps it is because sometime a few people who do like to talk about spirituality are rigid in their view and force them upon others. I do not think this was the case with the above message - i felt it was more an “invitation” for reflection about why we don’t lead more spiritual lives, and what is going on in society that makes it so un-popular!?
Thanks for the post
This points up the dilemma we face all our lives: what are true values are.
Thank you for the refresher.
It was really a common sense message and imporatant as well..
Really true n amazing
thanks a lotttttttttttt
Thank you.
That was quite inspiring. Most of the points are true..except for preferring to take the last seat at the temple..do people really do that?
Does this happen because we have gravitated towards having a life where we don’t want to think in our spare time?
NICE ONE
THANKS..
Too Good, Worth considering
Thanks
I agree with your words. how true..
It is very nice
Hi
Enjoyed your message “Isnt it strange” until reference was made to Bhagwad Gita and Ramayana.
As a born again Christian who believes in the Deity of Jesus Christ the son of the one true God Yahweh and that the Holy Bible is inspired by God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, I could not relate to these references.
May I propose that we keep the comments general so as to align and remain relevant to those who ascribe to the christian faith.
Kind regards

Hi, I would like to know which God this message “Isn’t it strange” is refering to. I am curious especially because I saw the terms “Bhagwad Gita” and “Ramayan”.
Isn’t it strange how we realize this is true while reading ur post and then forget all about it? :p
It was good enough to open our eyes…..thanks keep on sending such good messages.
well said u elegant chic!!
this is really good.
simple, and to the point.
@ S. Kaur: For your info, the Bhagwad Geeta, is a Holy Text.. More than just Holy in fact. The Ramayan too, is a text, centered around Lord Rama’s life. This post is not centered around a particular. It only has mentions of these books, to serve a functional purpose, to convey the message: What are our priorities? Do we list them in one order, and live them in another?
@ Elegant Chic: Precisely what Pravs is getting at…
@ gathoni hamilton-foster: Pravs isn’t trying to talk about any Religion. Just re-read the mentions of the Geeta and Ramayan, as the Holy Bible. It’s such a simple and inspiring post. why must you single out these two points, and not see the significance of the understanding?
*sorry. point 1: this post is not centered around a _particular *RELIGION*
Yes, it is strange !!!
It call depends on the person and the interest he has… for example you are correct to quote that 60 mins pass on quickly when i am watching cricket or when i am with my frzz comparatively when i am in Temple, but on the other hand a priest may feel like decade when watching a 2hr movie
that all depends on person to person and the passion for the things he wants to do
Nice one to read…
Very beautiful message. I have shared it with all my friends!
We should really stop being strange and do what is right rather than what is tempting
So simple n so true…ppl tent to choose the exciting one rather than the worthy wan…the day ppl start seeing the importance n start applying on it, world would b a better place to live…
The msg has been known to all for years, but how far will humans change to accept the truth………
thanks…it’s a lovely message…a messege reflecting our true self…actually we are so much in habit of wearing disguise before others….that we finally appear disguised before ourselves.
Good one again!!
Hello, I agree with 2nd comment of S Kaur.. I did not like your thought as it was more concentrated to a religion.. There must be something more compassionate. Well that is my view.. Good Luck!!
We all know but still take things for granted untill and unless we are in dire straits. Nice message…
very good point, but for somebody who always find fault with others
classic words………
thanks
Too centered into one religion. I prefer seeing messages for everyone instead to a small group. Also if someone needs to be reminded so much about the time that is not spending praying or doing their religious rituals than is not worth it trying to force it as it won’t come from the heart. Everyone have their own pacing and everyone will find their way (eventually) to elevate spiritually without being pushed by others.
So true….
thank u..i ve never realised it myself, before..but as i read the words..i realised how true they were.
