The Sands of Forgiveness

The Sands of Forgiveness

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.

The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.

After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, “After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?”

The other friend replied “When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.”

LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.

In spite of the difficulty to be accomplished, this should be the basis to be settled, upon which every other self-improvement effort should be built on.

I always find it really hard to contemplate how some people that have been hurt tend to have the audacity to forgive and forget.

Forgiving is another thing and forgeting is another thing. Courage is the thing that makes the process of ‘forgive and forget’ happens.

That was a truly an inpirational story.

Thank You for the wonderful work you are doing. I am a fan of Pravs World from last 7 years.

    Keep up the good work!

I hope this message reaches to those who need to change the way they think.

Very well articulated, to forgive you need guts and not many are blessed with it.

Though people want to forgive their nature reminds them of unwanted incident they have faced; it requires real courage to forgive in such tough times.

    Best Regards,
    Dev

    Yet another wonderful short essay!
So difficult to apply in the heat of
the moment. But to be applied the next time
if one can just allow the moment to pass,
a few seconds, before reacting. I have
learned this lesson the hard way, and I
    remain on the learning curve…..
