What A Dog Teaches You

A dog teaches us a lot of things, but we never seem to take notice. These are some of the lessons you might learn…

  • When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
  • Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
  • Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
  • When it’s in your best interest, practice obedience.
  • Let others know when they’ve invaded your territory.
  • Take naps and stretch before rising.
  • Run romp and play daily.
  • Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
  • Avoid biting, when a simple growl will do.
  • On warm days stop to lie on your back on the grass. On hot days drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.
  • When you’re happy dance around and wag your entire body.
  • No matter how often you’re scolded don’t buy into the guilt thing and pout. Run right back and make friends.
  • Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
  • Eat with gusto and enthusiasm, stop when you have had enough.
  • Be loyal.
  • Never pretend to be something you’re not.
  • If what you want lies buried dig until you find it.
  • When someone is having a bad day be silent, sit close by… and nuzzle them gently.

It´s funny, but it´s true….and being the owner of 3 of them, two German Shepherds and one Dalmatian, by now I should have already learned at least some of these lessons…..

I fully agree with Eliane that our own dogs teach us so much but we ‘CULTURED’, ‘KNOWLEDGEABLE’ and ”WISE’ humans tend to ignore them. i have two of them and i have learned one thing from my Labrador; never give up on something you desperately desire and one fine day you will surely be getting it.

Thanks Pravs for this wonderful message. Dogs do teach us many things in life. And more importantly they teach us to be human.

If you are fortunate enough of having them as your pet, hold their face in your hand and look straight into their eyes. I bet…you will never be able to do anything wrong in your life…

    Live Strong… Be happy…

Unbelievable, so close and yet so far - The riddle of humans - answers we need are so close. Yet we seek them so far.

I wish all a wiggly day.

Someone said : “Many years ago when an adored dog died, a great friend, a bishop, said to me, “You must always remember that, as far as the Bible is concerned, God only threw the humans out of Paradise”
Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.

I think We are drawn to dogs because they are the uninhibited creatures we might be if we weren’t certain we knew better.

    this was nice
